Lesotho is the only country in the world completely landlocked by another. Lesotho, also known as the Mountain Kingdom, is completely surrounded by South Africa, but it is completely autonomous.

Lesotho has approximately 2.3 million people. it has an HIV/AIDS rate of 30% (the third highest in the world).

Geography: Lesotho is the only country in the world to lie entirely over 3,300 feet.

The Basotho blanket is a staple of survival. The blanket is used as a coat, blanket, and to carry babies. It gets cold enough to snow in Lesotho so blankets are necessary.

The traditional home is round and made of a cow manure/sand mixture with a grass roof. There are many homes now made of cinder blocks with sheet metal as a roof.
